It is an autoimmune disease. The immune system attacks the joints, causing them to become inflamed, red and swollen. In severe cases, they become deformed and crippled.
How can it be prevented?

Stick to plant based Paleolithic diet. Studies have shown that people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis are deficient in certain nutrients. When the small intestine is healthy. It allows only the nutrients to pass into the blood stream.

 When the small intestine get damaged by infection, sensitive food or drugs it pass into the blood stream thing like incompletely digested fats, proteins and carbohydrates when they get into the blood stream , they trigger joint inflammation.

People who eat fish are less likely to develop the disease. It makes sense as salmon fish contain omega 3 fatty acid. Omega 3 fatty acid has an anti inflammatory property.

Fish Oil: In fish oil omega 3 fatty acid is available. Studies have shown that patient suffering from rheumatoid arthritis who took   omega 3 fatty acid supplement had fewer tender, swollen joints compared to those who did not took.

Other supplement used:  Vitamin C 2000 milligram, Vitamin E 400-800 milligram, Selenium 200 milligram, zinc 3 micro milligram

Ginger and Turmeric: 2000 milligram of Ginger , 500 to 1000 milligram of Turmeric  a day in capsule form can also be helpful.
